Backing up your computer is one of those tasks everyone needs to do. Everyone knows they need to do it. Yet, still it is avoided. To be completely honest, if you don’t back up your computer and you consider the content of your computer to be even mildly important, you are an idiot. Sorry, but that is the truth of the matter. You should be backing up like you change your underwear; at least I hope you change your underwear daily.
We are moving to a life where physical media is disappearing (thank the lawd) so more and more of our files are stored on a machine and not a DVD or CD. Netflix is cutting their DVD market and Amazon is trying to get you to read on a kindle rather than a physical book. We store an enormous amount of information on our computers, from movies to music to documents. All things we’d rather not lose.
There are so many options now that were never available before. There’s online, offline, local, and distant. The reasons for not backing up are now fewer than ever. There are also many ways to backup your computer, these are the simplest.
